Second batch of DEWA employees sign up for National service

Dubai, UAE, 31 March 2015: The second batch of Dubai Electricity and Water Authoritys (DEWAs) staff has joined the third batch of the UAE National military service, which started on 28 March 2015. The first batch of DEWA staff, which comprised 94 young men and a young woman, joined the services on 20 December 2014.

DEWA is committed to strengthening the UAE National identity, building solidarity and loyalty to our nation. We have nominated the second batch of our staff for UAE military service, which we regard as a great honour and a sacred National duty. The National service enhances the sound National upbringing of UAE citizens. It instils loyalty, belonging, and sacrifice in them. DEWA took the necessary measures to secure qualified replacements to ensure continuous and seamless work, said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.

We are proud of our staff, the Emirati young men and women who have answered our dear countrys call of duty and signed up for the second batch of National service. This demonstrates their deep loyalty and belonging to this nation and their pride in its wise leadership, added Al Tayer.
At DEWA, we support the implementation of the National military service and reserve force. We coordinate with the competent authority to regulate organise joining targeted categories, to achieve the objectives of the national military and reserve force project. Sending the second batch of our staff supports our objective to promote harmony among members of society and increase the productivity and capabilities of Emirati young people to contribute to building a bright future for our beloved country, said Dr. Yousef Al Akraf, Executive Vice President of Business Support and Human Resources at DEWA.
