This initiative aims to make Paris 2024 the most accessible and engaging Olympic Games ever, enhancing Samsung’s legacy of supporting the Olympic movement through technological innovation.
Enhanced Viewing Experience with Galaxy S24 Ultra
The Opening Ceremony of Paris 2024 will be unique, taking place outside a stadium for the first time. Athletes will parade on the Seine River in designated boats for each national delegation, offering a spectacular view of Paris landmarks. Samsung will install over 200 Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphones on the bow and sides of the 85 athlete vessels, capturing high-quality HDR footage streamed via a private 5G network powered by Orange, the official mobile network provider of Paris 2024.
The same technology will be deployed for the sailing competitions in Marseille, allowing fans to experience the excitement of the races alongside their favorite Olympians. Months of research, development, and testing have ensured optimal video quality and connectivity performance across varying weather conditions. Samsung’s Galaxy S24 Ultra’s Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) features, enhanced transmission power, and relay towers on chase boats will provide a seamless live-streaming experience.
