RIPE NCC Organizes Interactive Workshop on IPv6 with Omani Information Technology Authority
The Omani government's Information Technology Authority (ITA) recently hosted Rseaux IP Europens Network Coordination Centers (RIPE NCC) first very successful workshop for the Omani Government in Muscat as it remains to service promoting the shift and migration of public and private companies to Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6). Telecommunications employees and Internet service providers (ISPs) staff participated in the training to find out the best ways to deal with IPv6 and properly implement it on their corresponding networks.
The RIPE NCC has developed different initiatives to support its members, governments and related entities with their IPv6 deployments. The joint training in Muscat was held as part of the RIPE NCC's capacity-building efforts and as part of the ITA's campaign to create a roadmap for IPv6 deployment in Oman. Representatives from Oman Telecommunications Company (Omantel), Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (TRA) were present in the workshop.
Paul Rendek, Director of External Relations at the RIPE NCC, agreed that the occasion was a great success. "The workshop was held in an environment where both technical and non-technical guests had the ability to share suggestions on IPv6-related problems. As the workshop was not simply technical, everybody felt comfortable with the interactive discussion, motivating the target market to take part and ask concerns. The feedback we obtained revealed that guests were keen for additional information and ready to satisfy RIPE NCC once more for more information concerning IPv6".
The RIPE NCC looks for to constantly reinforce its collaborations with government entities and police to develop reliable remedies to take care of cybercrime and other challenges through IPv6 migration.
The rapid growth in digital technology has boosted substantial need for Internet solutions and brought social and economic development around the world. By sharing proficiency with network operators to assist their networks become future-proof, the RIPE NCC is aiding to drive sustainable growth and economic development throughout its service region.
