Ras Al Khaimah New Years Eve Fireworks burst their Way Straight into the Guinness Book of World Records
Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates, January 1, 2019: Ras Al Khaimah astonished the world with its 2019 New Year's Eve Fireworks that welcomed thousands of hundreds of site visitors to the emirate. Organised by Marjan, with the support of Ras Al Khaimah's government entities, and also put together by Fireworks by Grucci, the Ras Al Khaimah New Year's Fireworks, spanning a period of over 13.20 mins, additionally secured two Guinness World Records for the 'Longest chain of fireworks' and also the 'Longest straight line of fireworks'.
The celebration this year was made even a lot more unforgettable for the revelers with Al Marjan Island, the venue of the event and also the flagship lifestyle location by Marjan, hosting various fun activities for families to indulge in. The celebration flagged off with a remarkable pyrotechnic tribute to the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of the UAE. In a befitting conclusion to the 'Year of Zayed' marked in 2018 to celebrate his birth centenary, the night-sky of Ras Al Khaimah dazzled with a brilliant image of Sheikh Zayed after which came an amazing fireworks display.

Guinness World Record for Longest chain of fireworks achieved just before countdown to the New Year was a tribute to the Year of Zayed with the total length of fireworks chain at 4.6 km and using 11,284 devices and Record for Longest straight line of fireworks was achieved with a colourful canopy of fireworks spanning an area of 13 km along Al Marjan Island.
A 200-piece SkyMagic drone shows beautifully complemented the fireworks design. Scenes such as the homage to Sheikh Zayed were displayed within a 100m area in the sky highlighted by vibrant bursts of fireworks. A sweeping display of a falcon spreading its wings once again emphasized the heritage of the Emirate.
Over 300 hrs were spent to make this event come alive. The design resulted in the programming of over 41,000 lines of computer instructions to control 20 computers to display the sweeping performance. The firework elements for the aerial coverings, ranging in size from 14 to 600 mm, were handmade exclusively by Grucci in their factories in New York as well as Virginia over a two-month duration.
