Qatar Airways launches onboard signature music created with composer Hans Zimmer

Qatar Airways has unveiled a new onboard signature music composition created in collaboration with award-winning composer Hans Zimmer, introducing a distinctive sound identity to its passenger experience.

Inspired by Qatar and its culture, the composition is designed to reflect the emotions and memories associated with travel. Passengers can experience the new music onboard from November 6, 2026.

The composition is part of Burgundy Symphony, a bespoke five-track album created to capture the airline's wider sound identity through original music.

The collaboration combines Zimmer's cinematic style with Qatar Airways' focus on creating memorable passenger experiences, with the music intended to evoke different moments throughout a journey.

Five tracks capture different stages of travel

The Burgundy Symphony album features five original compositions, each representing a distinct aspect of travel:

  • Dawn: Opens the collection with a sense of anticipation and possibility, reflecting the excitement of discovering new destinations.

  • Dusk: Captures the tranquillity of flying above the clouds as daylight fades and the night sky emerges.

  • The Orchard: Offers a musical interpretation of calm and reflection, inspired by ORCHARD, the garden experience at Hamad International Airport.

  • Homecoming: Reflects the experience of returning home and the lasting memories created through travel.

  • An Ode to Qatar: Concludes the album with a tribute to Qatar's heritage, culture and forward-looking ambitions, highlighting the relationship between tradition and progress.

Collaboration unveiled at Doha concert

The launch was celebrated during Hans Zimmer's concert in Doha on November 6. Audiences were given an exclusive preview of the collaboration through a specially produced film exploring the creative process and inspiration behind Burgundy Symphony, alongside a preview of the music.

The new composition is intended to become a recognisable part of the Qatar Airways passenger experience, connecting the airline's identity with the cultural and emotional dimensions of travel.
