New 2015 Ford Expedition Ready To Take On the Middle Easts Full-Size SUV Segment With New 365HP EcoBoost Engine, Best-in-Class Torque, and More Technology

Ford dealers across the region are gearing up to launch the 2015 model of Ford Expedition, one of the brands best-selling SUVs in the Middle East. The new model, already arriving in Ford dealerships across the region, is the most powerful, fuel-efficient Ford Expedition ever, with a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine that delvers 365HP and best-in-class torque of 420lbs.-ft., and more technology than ever.

We are thrilled to bring the newly-refreshed Expedition to our customers, and we believe it will make its mark in the full-size SUV segment thanks to its impressive capabilities, lineup of technologies, and of course comfort, said Kalyana Sivagnanam, Marketing, Sales and Service director for Ford Middle East & North Africa.

Customers in the Middle East appreciate the capabilities of a traditional full-size utility vehicle they want space, performance, comfort and capability all in one impressive package, and the new 2015 Expedition delivers just that, he added. We are confident the new Expedition will hit it right with our customers from the first test-drive, as they experience for themselves the outstanding power and performance this full-size SUV offers.
The 2015 Expedition also comes with a refreshed new look inside out and a quieter cabin with more technology than previous-generation vehicles. It will be the latest Ford nameplate to offer a high-end Platinum series.

The new Expedition features some of the latest Ford technologies, including available SYNC with MyFord Touch, passive entry with push-button start and Blind Spot Information System with cross-traffic alert. The new 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine, using direct injection and twin turbochargers, provides more power, efficiency and performance than the 5.4-liter V8 in the previous model. Paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission, the new engine will deliver an impressive 365HP and best-in-class 420lbs.-ft. of torque.

Expedition, which debuted in 1996, is Fords largest utility vehicle, and is able to seat eight adults comfortably, with best-in-class 3rd row legroom. The standard 2015 Expedition has three rows of seats and up to 108.3 cubic feet of cargo space. It sits on a 119-inch wheelbase, making it a little more than 6 inches longer than Ford Explorer. A longer-wheelbase version 131 inches has three rows of seats and best-in-class maximum cargo space of 130.8 cubic feet.

The 2015 Expedition will continue to feature an independent rear suspension to deliver a more confident ride and great handling characteristics. The suspension also allows a more convenient fold-flat third-row bench seat and low load-floor height.

Expedition has a myriad of standard safety features aimed at protecting drivers and occupants, as well as driver-assist features that are new to the vehicle. Standard safety features include AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control, Safety Canopy side-curtain airbags, SOS Post-Crash Alert System, tire pressure monitoring system and traction control all part of the features that helped the 2015 Ford Expedition earn a five-star Overall Vehicle Score in the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration New Car Assessment Program, the U.S. governments highest possible overall rating.

Ford is building on a successful tradition of Expedition capability and quality with significant improvements in design, performance, efficiency and technology to bring customers a full-size utility they want to get into when hitting the open road, concluded Sivagnanam.
