MoHESR strengthens proactive oversight and monitoring system to enhance education quality assurance
The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR) has reinforced its proactive monitoring framework to ensure quality assurance across higher, vocational, and applied education in the UAE. Between June and early September 2025, the Ministry monitored over 2,500 digital advertisements from 118 educational and training institutions, as part of its ongoing effort to safeguard students from non-compliant promotional practices and enhance transparency in education.
Her Excellency Taif Mohamed Alamiri, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for the Higher Education Regulation and Governance Sector, emphasized that strengthening the Ministry’s regulatory framework reflects a national commitment to maintaining the integrity and quality of educational and professional programmes offered by licensed institutions.
“We ensure proactive and continuous monitoring through digital tools, feedback from students, parents and stakeholders, as well as field visits to educational institutions,” said Her Excellency Alamiri. “These efforts strengthen public trust in the academic and professional standards of UAE-based higher education institutions.”
Enhanced collaboration and governance
Her Excellency Alamiri noted that MoHESR’s role extends beyond technical oversight to include an integrated institutional collaboration framework. This involves coordination between a specialised MoHESR department, federal and local regulatory bodies, and higher education and vocational institutions.
“This approach strengthens governance, protects students from irresponsible practices, and reaffirms that education in the UAE remains a core national value — a pillar of the country’s journey toward a knowledge-based, competitive economy,” she added.
Monitoring results and compliance outcomes
According to MoHESR, most promotional content reviewed met the required standards. However, 20 non-compliant advertisements were proactively stopped from dissemination. The Ministry also conducted 67 inspection visits from early 2025 through September to evaluate programme quality and institutional compliance with regulations.
The Ministry reiterated that protecting students and upholding the quality of education are top priorities. It urged students and parents to verify that educational institutions are licensed and that their academic programmes are accredited by the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) before enrollment.
