InterContinental Dubai Festival City Elevates Event Venues under "Events by InterContinental"
InterContinental Dubai Festival City has announced significant enhancements to its premier event venues, now unified under the new brand "Events by InterContinental." This strategic move brings together The Event Centre at InterContinental Dubai Festival City and Festival Arena by InterContinental, creating a comprehensive event destination that solidifies the venue's position as a major player in the UAE's booming Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) industry.
According to a report by Coherent Market Insights, the UAE MICE market is projected to grow from USD 5.65 billion in 2024 to USD 10.01 billion by 2031. This rapid expansion is driven by the UAE's ongoing infrastructure development, cutting-edge facilities, and strategic initiatives that are positioning the nation as a global MICE hub. In response to this growing demand, InterContinental Dubai Festival City has invested heavily in upgrading its event venues, ensuring they meet the needs of the thriving sector.
"We are excited to introduce Events by InterContinental Dubai Festival City, which provides an exceptional environment for events of all sizes and types," said Thomas Schmelter, Area General Manager of IHG Hotels at Dubai Festival City. "With a prime location just minutes from Dubai International Airport, Dubai International Financial Centre, and Downtown Dubai, our venues offer seamless access for both local and international guests. By integrating our two premier venues and enhancing The Event Centre's ballrooms with state-of-the-art design and technology, we are setting a new standard for event hosting in the region."
Events by InterContinental Dubai Festival City now offers a total of 15,000 square meters of event space. This includes a 7,200 square meter pillarless facility at Festival Arena, ideal for conventions, exhibitions, and concerts, accommodating up to 9,000 people. The Event Centre features a 5,000 square meter space with a waterfront location, ballrooms, meeting rooms, and a promenade with stunning views of the Dubai skyline. Additionally, a 1,150 square meter venue at Holiday Inn & Suites ensures options for various budget requirements. Together, these spaces offer a versatile and comprehensive solution for all types of events.
The newly enhanced ballrooms at The Event Centre will be equipped with cutting-edge technology, including the region's largest LED screen and a high-lumen projector (16.5k), ensuring top-tier presentation quality. Designed by David T’Kint, these versatile spaces blend sophistication and functionality, featuring state-of-the-art ballrooms in a waterfront setting with a large promenade offering scenic views of Dubai Creek and the iconic Dubai skyline. The redesigned ballrooms cater to diverse event needs, from large-scale conferences to intimate meetings, all within the InterContinental Dubai Festival City complex, with direct access to Crowne Plaza and Dubai Festival City Mall.
"As the UAE continues to establish itself as a global MICE industry hub, we are committed to supporting this vision through continuous innovation and excellence in event hosting," said Pranav Vohra, Cluster Commercial Director of IHG Hotels at Dubai Festival City. "The enhancement of our ballrooms exemplifies our dedication to meeting the evolving needs of our corporate clients and contributing to the UAE's ambitious growth in the MICE sector."
