H.E. Bin Touq Leads UAE Economic Delegation to India to Strengthen Cooperation in New Economy, Logistics, and Advanced Industries

H.E. Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, UAE Minister of Economy and Chairman of Investopia, along with H.E. Alia bint Abdulla Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for Entrepreneurship, will lead an economic delegation to India this week. The delegation aims to strengthen economic cooperation between the two nations, focusing on sectors such as the new economy, logistics, advanced industries, entrepreneurship, SMEs, environment, and investment.

This visit underscores the robust economic relations between the UAE and India, which have seen significant growth across various sectors with strong support from both countries' leaderships.

Launch of Investopia Global Talks in Chennai

The delegation’s visit will feature the launch of a new edition of Investopia Global Talks in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. This event aims to create diverse economic and investment opportunities that align with the vision of expanding mutual interests between the UAE and India. The forum will host three panel discussions focusing on enhancing economic, investment, and trade cooperation between the two nations in the context of global economic developments. Topics will include the decarbonization of heavy industries, recent global investment and trade trends, and promising opportunities for SME growth.

A session titled "Make in the Emirates" will feature key speakers such as Osama Amir Fadel, Associate Deputy Industrial Accelerator Sector, Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology; Rola Abu-Mina, CEO of Standard Chartered Bank, UAE; and Shakir Zeinel, Head of Banking at Emirates Development Bank. This session will highlight the advantages and potential offered by the UAE to investors in the industrial sector and the sector’s competitiveness at regional and global levels.

Roundtable and Networking

Investopia India will also host a roundtable with participation from government officials, businessmen, and investors from both countries. This roundtable aims to explore economic, investment, and trade opportunities in the private sector, benefiting both Indian and UAE business communities. Over 300 participants, including industry leaders, investors, entrepreneurs, economic experts, and representatives from leading Emirati and Indian private sector companies, are expected to attend.

Meetings with Indian Officials

H.E. Bin Touq will engage in several one-on-one meetings with Indian ministers and government officials, including Shri. M.K. Stalin, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, and Dr. T.R.B. Raja, Minister of Industry, Investment Promotion, and Commerce for Tamil Nadu. These meetings aim to further develop economic relations, explore new investment opportunities, and enhance dialogue at the private sector level, in line with the developmental goals of both nations.

Visit to IIT Madras and TIDCO

The Minister of Economy will also visit the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM), renowned for its advanced research facilities and laboratories. The visit will facilitate the exchange of knowledge and best practices in scientific research, entrepreneurship, startups, FinTech, and AI. Additionally, the Minister will visit the Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO) and its manufacturing facility to gain insights into advancements in advanced industries, space exploration, and electric vehicles.

Delegation and SME Participation

The UAE delegation includes more than 27 representatives from government entities and national and private companies such as the Ministry of Investment, Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, Dubai Chamber of Commerce, Sharaf Group, Lulu Group International, Emirates Development Bank (EDB), Standard Chartered UAE, GFG Alliance, PGI Group, Wio Bank, and WizzAir Abu Dhabi. Additionally, 14 UAE SMEs will showcase their innovative projects to participating investors at the latest Investopia Global Talks.
