HBMSU Signs Strategic MoU with Project Management Institute to Advance Knowledge Exchange and Global Best Practices
In a major step towards strengthening international partnerships and enhancing smart education, Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Project Management Institute (PMI). The agreement focuses on fostering knowledge exchange, adopting global best practices, and developing innovative educational programs designed to prepare learners for the demands of the evolving job market.
The MoU was signed by His Excellency Dr. Mansoor Al Awar, Chancellor of HBMSU, and Hanny Alshazly, Managing Director for the Middle East and North Africa at PMI, in the presence of distinguished representatives from both organizations.
H.E. Dr. Mansoor Al Awar emphasized the significance of the partnership, stating, “HBMSU draws inspiration from the UAE’s ambitious national goals and is committed to aligning educational outcomes with the principles of the knowledge economy. By forging strategic alliances with leading institutions, the University continues to promote excellence, innovation, and the adoption of advanced global educational models. Our collaboration with PMI will help us set new benchmarks in technology-driven education and strengthen Dubai’s position as a global hub for science and knowledge.”
HBMSU, known for offering a highly regarded Master of Project Management program, aims to leverage this collaboration to further enhance its specialized training initiatives, ensuring that learners acquire future-ready skills.
Hanny Alshazly echoed this sentiment, saying, “PMI is proud to partner with HBMSU — the first smart university in the UAE and GCC. Together, we will empower students and professionals with access to global project management standards and practical tools, reinforcing leadership and success in a fast-evolving digital world.”
Under the terms of the MoU, the two entities will establish a framework for exchanging knowledge and expertise, utilizing case studies, and collaborating on joint publications. PMI will also make its educational products available online, support the launch of an integrated business platform at HBMSU, and contribute a wide range of project management solutions to enhance the university’s smart learning environment.
