Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation Marks UAE’s 53rd National Day
The Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences celebrated the UAE’s 53rd National Day at its headquarters in Dubai. The event paid homage to the nation’s founding journey and its remarkable achievements over the decades.
The celebration was graced by the presence of H.E. Ahmed bin Humaid Al Tayer, a distinguished figure who witnessed the UAE’s formative years and served in several ministerial roles. Also in attendance were H.E. Humaid Mohammed Al Qatami, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation; H.E. Dr. Jamal Mohammed Al Muhairi, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees; and H.E. Dr. Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of the Foundation. Joining them were prominent members of the Board of Trustees, including H.E. Rashid Bin Fahad, H.E. Saeed Al Raqbani, and H.E. Hussain Lootah, alongside officials and employees.
The event commenced with the national anthem and featured speeches, lectures, and national-themed performances. A highlight of the day was a lecture titled “The United Arab Emirates: Memories and Achievements” by H.E. Ahmed bin Humaid Al Tayer. He shared personal reflections on the UAE’s founding era, emphasizing the efforts of the nation’s founding fathers, including the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum. Al Tayer outlined the visionary strategies that transformed the UAE into a global hub for innovation, talent, and sustainable development.
A Legacy of Vision and Leadership
During his address, Al Tayer highlighted the challenges faced by the nation’s early leaders and their determination to implement ambitious plans that secured a dignified and prosperous life for citizens and residents. He praised the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, for steering the UAE towards global competitiveness in various fields.
“These achievements are a testament to the wisdom and strategic foresight of our leadership,” said Al Tayer. “The UAE today stands as a beacon of progress, attracting innovators and creators from around the world.” He also acknowledged the humanitarian contributions of the late Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, describing him as a national icon whose legacy continues to inspire.

H.E. Dr. Humaid Al Qatami extended his heartfelt congratulations to the UAE’s leadership and citizens, expressing pride in the nation’s progress. He emphasized the UAE’s early commitment to education as a cornerstone of development, noting the Foundation’s ongoing efforts to elevate educational standards through awards, programs, and strategic initiatives.
