Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation assesses 50 gifted students in Abu Dhabi

The Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences has conducted gifted student identification assessments for around 50 participants of the TALENTiFY programme in Abu Dhabi, as part of a national collaboration focused on identifying and developing promising talent across the UAE.

The assessments were conducted by the Hamdan Centre for Giftedness and Innovation under the foundation's Student Talent Identification Program. The initiative was carried out in cooperation with the Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC), which implements the TALENTiFY programme in Abu Dhabi.

Assessments focus on identifying student potential

The assessment process included the Hamdan Giftedness Test, a scientific tool developed by the foundation to help identify gifted students, alongside other assessments under the Student Talent Identification Program.

The assessments are designed to provide scientific indicators of students' potential and capabilities across different areas, supporting the early identification of promising abilities and the development of appropriate pathways for gifted learners.

The foundation said the initiative forms part of its wider efforts to expand the use of scientifically developed assessment tools and strengthen cooperation with national institutions involved in developing human capital.

Session held for specialists and parents

Alongside the student assessments, the Hamdan Centre for Giftedness and Innovation organised an interactive session for specialists and parents.

The session introduced participants to the methodology behind the Hamdan Giftedness Test and explained the objectives of the Student Talent Identification Program. It also highlighted the importance of early identification and cooperation between families and educational institutions in creating supportive environments for gifted students.

The foundation said collaboration between parents, educators and specialised organisations can help students better understand and develop their abilities while providing them with suitable opportunities for growth.

Focus on early identification of giftedness

H.E. Dr. Khalifa Ali Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences, said early identification of giftedness provides an important foundation for establishing long-term development pathways for students.

He said the foundation is continuing to advance its scientific assessment tools and specialised programmes while expanding partnerships with national organisations to strengthen gifted education across the UAE.

The foundation also emphasised the importance of reliable scientific tools and rigorous methodologies in identifying gifted students and supporting their development from an early stage.

ATRC highlights importance of national talent

H.E. Shahab Issa Abu Shahab, Director General of the Advanced Technology Research Council, said developing young national talent is a key part of ATRC's mission.

He said specialised programmes can help students discover their potential and develop skills in science and advanced technology, while partnerships between national institutions can contribute to building a stronger pipeline of future innovators and researchers.

The collaboration with the Hamdan Foundation reflects efforts to connect gifted student identification with broader opportunities in advanced technology and innovation.
