GEMS Education honours Exceptional Heads of School in its Network
GEMS Education has announced the winner of its inaugural GEMS Exceptional Head of School Awards.
Chosen by peers, and chosen by an judging panel, Nargish Khambatta from GEMS Modern Academy was judged as the winner from within the GEMS network in the UAE. She got a prize money of AED273,000 (US$ 75,000).
The honors acknowledge outstanding Heads of Schools (Principals and Superintendents) who have actually prospered in giving high-grade understanding possibilities for all their trainees. The GEMS Exceptional Head of School Award is the fifth recognition to honour teachers, released by GEMS and the Varkey Structure. The others are: the AED1 million Emirates Innovative Instructor Award, an initiative arranged in partnership with the UAE Ministry of Education; the US$ 1 million Global Teacher Prize, instituted and managed by the Varkey Foundation and sustained by GEMS Education; the Mariamma Varkey Honors for Inspiring and Outstanding Teaching at GEMS; and the GEMS Teacher of the Month Honors, which happen in all GEMS colleges in the UAE.
This series of honors highlight the importance of the mentor occupation and highlight teachers throughout the world that deserve to be identified, appreciated, rewarded and celebrated.

The leading 5 finalist of the GEMS Exceptional Head of School were; Matthew Burfield, GEMS Founders School- Al Barsha; Asma Gilani, Our Own English Senior High School- Sharjah Girls; Ruth Burke, GEMS Wellington International School; Nargish Khambatta, GEMS Modern Academy; and Simon O'Connor, Jumeirah College.
Past the US$ 75,000 and the US$ 25,000 that the Winner and Runner up obtained, the various other 3 finalists received US$ 10,000.
