Four Seasons Resort Maui At Wailea Offers Guests Many Awe Inspiring Ways To Enjoy Majestic Humpback Whales - On Water, Land Or In The Air

On their annual must stop to the temperate waters just off the shoreline at Four Seasons Resort Maui, thousands of magnificent humpback whales - some as large as 50 feet (15 metres) long, carrying 30-40 tons (27-36 tonnes) of weight - can be counted on to fascinate and entertain guests this winter. Hawaiis whale season begins in December. The sight of these spectacular marine creatures is a guaranteed aquatic experience not to be missed as the whales travel from the Arctic to Hawaii to mate and calf their young.

This year, guests at Four Seasons Resort Maui, Mauis only Forbes Five-Star luxury resort, can choose from among many whale-watching experiences. With 22 concierges on staff, four of whom are members of the elite Les Clefs dOr concierge association, the Resort's concierge team can customize a guests whale-watching itinerary, selecting from among a number of different and unique encounters. Several of these Maui whale-watching experiences are complimentary.

Guests can join the Resorts on-site water experts Maui Undersea Adventures for an educational kayak tour; take part in a complimentary outrigger canoe experience, learning the history and how-tos of this Hawaiian paddling sport while positioning for whale sightings; or they may step aboard the Alii Nui catamaran for a two-hour whale watching trip in the Maui waters.

There is also an opportunity to take a Sunshine Helicopter Molokai tour and, from the sky, explore two islands while watching the whales in Maui and viewing Hawaiis tallest waterfalls and sea cliffs on Molokais remote North Shore.
For guests who prefer to stay on dry land, there are always Resort sightings with plenty of unique viewing opportunities from shore and from the edge of the Resorts adults-only Serenity Pool to see these playful whales just yards away.

Four Seasons Resort Maui also has collaborated with the Cesere Brothers, a dynamic photography duo who are "artists in residence" at the Resort and among the few with the authority to swim with and capture the whales' marine moments through their underwater lens. The brothers volunteer their time in the winters to the Keiki (baby) Kohola Project and each week they showcase their images at the Resort. It is just another memorable and complimentary feature of a Four Seasons Resort Maui luxury vacation.
