Federal Tax Authority Organizes 40 Events in Six Months to Boost Corporate Tax Compliance Awareness

The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) has significantly ramped up its efforts to raise awareness about Corporate Tax compliance, organizing 40 events in the first half of 2024. These initiatives, aimed at educating businesses on the Corporate Tax Law that came into effect for financial years beginning on or after June 1, 2023, attracted more than 8,000 participants across the UAE.

In a press release issued today, the FTA highlighted a 9.23% increase in participation, with 8,220 attendees joining both in-person and virtual workshops, compared to 7,520 in the same period last year. Participant satisfaction also saw a notable rise, reaching 97.5% in the first half of 2024, up from 93% in the corresponding period of 2023.

The FTA emphasized its commitment to expanding and diversifying its Corporate Tax awareness initiatives, as evidenced by the 135% increase in the number of events organized—up from 17 in the first half of 2023 to 40 in 2024. These events cater to the growing demand for knowledge on Corporate Tax compliance and related procedures, helping businesses across various sectors navigate the new tax landscape.

His Excellency Khalid Ali Al Bustani, Director General of the FTA, remarked on the Authority’s dedication to fostering a tax-compliant culture in the UAE. "This expansion and diversification in Corporate Tax awareness activities reflect our commitment at the Federal Tax Authority to promoting a tax culture, particularly in Corporate Tax, across all business sectors," said Al Bustani. He further noted that the FTA would continue to offer both in-person workshops nationwide and a comprehensive suite of virtual workshops through its website, which also provides guides, videos, and other resources to help businesses understand Corporate Tax regulations.

Al Bustani urged all relevant stakeholders to participate in the FTA's Corporate Tax awareness events and encouraged taxpayers subject to Corporate Tax to submit their registration requests within the timelines specified in FTA Decision No. (3) of 2024, effective from March 1, 2024.
