Epson Survey Highlights Rising Popularity of Home Projectors in UAE

A recent survey commissioned by Epson reveals a growing trend among consumers in the Middle East, Türkiye, and Africa (META-CWA) region, particularly in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, toward using large-screen projectors for home cinema experiences. The research reflects a shift in lifestyle preferences and a rising demand for immersive, high-quality visual entertainment, with projectors now favored over traditional television sets for watching movies, gaming, and streaming content.

The study, conducted across five markets—UAE, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Türkiye, and South Africa—found that 50.8% of respondents preferred large-screen projectors over TVs. Notably, the UAE (60%) and Saudi Arabia (62%) showed the highest preference. Only 11.6% of those surveyed said they had never used or tried a projector, indicating a strong and growing interest in the technology.

In the UAE, visual quality was cited as the most critical factor for an ideal movie-watching experience by 40% of respondents, followed by sound quality at 33%. Other elements such as ambience and comfort were also considered important but ranked lower, showing that technological performance takes precedence in home entertainment setups.

Epson has been leading innovation in the projector market, offering advanced home cinema solutions like its 4K PRO-UHD projectors equipped with 3LCD technology. These models deliver vivid, lifelike images with high contrast ratios and exceptional brightness levels, supporting display sizes up to 300 inches. The built-in audio systems and compatibility with external sound equipment ensure a high-quality sound experience to match the visual excellence.

The survey, conducted in collaboration with Pollfish, sampled 100 respondents per market. Epson sees a strong opportunity to grow its market share as more consumers embrace projectors for their advantages—larger screen sizes, portability, space efficiency, and a customizable, cinematic feel.

With advancements in visual and sound technologies becoming more accessible, Epson anticipates continued growth in demand for high-end home entertainment systems that replicate the movie theatre experience at home.
