ENOC joins hands with Dubai Police to host illegal substances use awareness workshop
Dubai, UAE; March 26, 2015: Underlining its commitment to the community, Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) partnered with Dubai Police to organise a lecture for the apprentices of ENOCs Technical Training Centre, on illegal substances and their use.
At the workshop, organised by ENOCs Career and Competency Development Department in conjunction with the Awareness and Preventative Division of Dubai Police, Police Lieutenant Hamad Mohamed focused on the use of drugs and how it impacts the individual, the family and the wider community.
Through a video presentation of the true life story of a young drug addict and his journey, Lieutenant Mohamed stressed the importance of the community working together to remove this stigma from society.
Saeed Khoory, Chief Executive Officer of ENOC, said: Corporate Social Responsibility represents the cornerstone of our strategy, with a significant emphasis placed on our own employees and the community. This partnership with Dubai Police highlights our commitment to ensuring our employees wellbeing as well as our dedication to supporting other government authorities in their efforts of community service and developing a city that cares.
Illegal substances use is an issue that cannot be taken lightly as the consequences can be devastating for the individuals involved, their families and society. We would like to thank Dubai Police and particularly Lieutenant Hamad Mohamed for taking the time to address our apprentices and explain such a critical issue, he added.
At the end of the workshop, Dubai Police shared a series of phone numbers that can be used by anyone seeking help for rehabilitation:
