ENOC Group achieves 97 million kWh power savings
ENOC Group has declared a record 97 million kWh in power additions since 2014, which is the equivalent to the power required to power 8600 houses per year, as a consequence of performing a series of service and stock management actions.
Since 2014, the Group has also registered important 230,000 tonnes decreases in carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions; as well as 477,000 cubic metres of water in total savings, which is the equivalent of water amounts required to fill 190 Olympic swimming pools.
His Excellency Saif Humaid Al Falasi, the Group CEO, ENOC Group, said: ENOC has forever known the value of including energy and resource administration to drive the growth of our Group. Our efforts in ERM underpin our responsibility to support the Dubai Governments order to promote sustainable business procedures and to decrease the citys carbon footprint. We are gratified of our achievements and we will proceed to make paces in service management review while following the key federal strategies.
In 2019, ENOC Group recycled 17% of its total water consumption, an equivalent to 390,000 cbm, serving to reduce freshwater consumption. This year, Horizon Jebel Ali Terminal, DUGAS and Tasjeel have added up to 40% water savings.
The Group also delivered 5.8 million kWh of electricity in 2019, thereby reducing its potential power by a great 32% since 2014.
The Groups hot strength gains amounted to 3.2 million GJ and equal to 77 million litres of gasoline.
The energy and resource control achievements were unveiled at the ENOC Energy Awards, designed to identify the actions and participation of top-performing segments and individuals.
ENOC has completed projects to additionally improve its Energy & Resource Management course by including the Superior Energy Performance (SEP) scheme in 2017. The scheme is based on the distinction model and consists of enablers and results. The classes are certified bronze, silver, gold, and platinum.
This year, the ENOC Energy Awards were created as a virtual event, presenting in several categories including highest property in energy-saving projects, Green acquisition champion of the year, highest energy and resource cost reduction achieved from 2013 baseline and best E&RM business plan for the year.
