Emirates Health Services Launches 'Initiate Action, Receive Hope' Campaign for Second Year

Emirates Health Services (EHS), represented by Saqr Hospital, has launched the second edition of its early breast cancer screening campaign, titled "Initiate Action, Receive Hope." The campaign, organized in partnership with the Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP), aims to raise awareness about the importance of early detection of breast cancer and to offer free screenings to women aged 40 and above. Running from August through November 26, this initiative underscores EHS's dedication to enhancing health awareness and supporting preventive healthcare across the UAE.

This year’s campaign will see an expansion in services, featuring 20 mobile clinics equipped with advanced mammography and ultrasound machines, doubling the number from last year. These clinics will provide comprehensive diagnostic services, including clinical examinations and specialized tests for breast cancer detection. Additionally, a series of awareness sessions will be held to educate women on the importance of early detection and self-examination techniques.

H.E. Dr. Essam Al Zarooni, Acting Executive Director of the Clinical Services Sector at EHS, emphasized the critical role of early detection in combating breast cancer, encouraging women to participate in the free screenings. He highlighted that this initiative aligns with the UAE’s "We the UAE 2031" vision, which focuses on improving the quality of life for all citizens.

Dr. Muna Al Ayyan, Director of Saqr Hospital in Ras Al Khaimah, announced that the campaign has expanded its reach to include Ajman and Umm Al-Quwain, in addition to Ras Al Khaimah. The increased number of mobile clinics allows the campaign to serve a broader audience and enhance its impact. She also mentioned that Saqr Hospital will host various events, including Pink Friday activities in October, to further promote breast cancer awareness.

The "Initiate Action, Receive Hope" campaign is part of a larger effort by EHS to promote public health and early prevention within the Emirati community. This year’s campaign will focus on follow-ups with individuals screened last year while expanding outreach to ensure maximum participation and impact.
