Dubai Land Department Registers 127 New Owners’ Committees to Enhance Governance and Sustainability
The Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA) at Dubai Land Department (DLD) has announced the formation and registration of 127 new owners’ committees across the emirate. This initiative is part of RERA’s ongoing efforts to strengthen governance, promote sustainability, and enhance the quality of life for residents in jointly owned properties.
Encouraging Active Community Participation
RERA has received a high volume of applications from property owners eager to participate in community management. Approvals are granted based on eligibility criteria, and registration remains open, though each committee is limited to nine members. Property owners—both individuals and companies—are encouraged to apply early to secure an active role in decision-making.
Key Responsibilities of Owners’ Committees
The newly registered owners’ committees will:
- Review budgets and financial planning for property management.
- Set maintenance priorities and oversee shared services.
- Ensure transparent collaboration with property management companies.
Each committee will elect a chairperson and vice-chairperson, assigning key responsibilities to enhance community well-being and resident satisfaction.
Oversight and Management by RERA
To maintain efficient operations, RERA will coordinate between management companies and owners’ committees while monitoring compliance with real estate regulations. Applications for individual property owners are reviewed directly, while corporate property owners must apply through their property management companies for official approval.
Commitment to Real Estate Excellence
The initiative aligns with Dubai’s vision to become a global leader in real estate, reinforcing high standards of management, regulation, and community collaboration. By encouraging property owners to engage in decision-making, RERA aims to safeguard investments, promote sustainability, and enhance Dubai’s appeal as a premier destination for living and working.
