Dubai International Chamber Facilitates Collaboration Between UAE-Based Meerana and Vietnamese Tech Giant FPT
The Dubai International Chamber, part of the Dubai Chambers, has played a crucial role in establishing a strategic partnership between UAE-based Meerana Technologies and Vietnam's FPT Corporation. This collaboration, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), is the direct result of a trade mission organized by the Dubai International Chamber to Vietnam in May.
The partnership aligns with the objectives of the ‘Dubai Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence,’ aimed at accelerating AI adoption across all sectors and positioning Dubai as a global leader in technology. The MoU focuses on empowering UAE nationals through specialized AI and software training programs provided by FPT, which will enhance local digital skills and contribute to Dubai's knowledge-based economy.
The MoU was signed at the Dubai Chambers’ headquarters, in the presence of His Excellency Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, and His Excellency Nguyen Thanh Diep, Ambassador of Vietnam to the UAE. The agreement covers key sectors such as semiconductors, cloud computing, software development, and product engineering, reinforcing Dubai’s role as a hub for advanced technology and innovation.
Meerana’s CEO, Matar Almehairi, highlighted the significance of this partnership, noting the unique opportunity it presents for UAE nationals to access FPT’s extensive AI expertise, which will bolster Dubai’s standing as a regional and international leader in advanced technologies. Rimah Ghaddar, Regional CEO at FPT, emphasized the transformative impact of their collaboration, which will drive digital innovation and create tailored solutions for the UAE market.
Since its inception in 2022, Meerana Technologies has expanded its operations to the UK, Egypt, and India, specializing in software, hardware, IT services, and business advisory. FPT Corporation, a leading Vietnamese conglomerate, operates in IT, telecommunications, and education, generating $2.17 billion in revenue last year and employing over 48,000 people globally.
