Dubai Chamber of Commerce to Highlight Role of AI and Digitisation in Sustainable Business Practices
The Dubai Chamber of Commerce, one of the key entities under the Dubai Chambers umbrella, has unveiled the agenda for Sustainability Week 2024, which will run from October 7 to 11. The event will focus on how digitisation and artificial intelligence (AI) can drive sustainable business practices, with a special emphasis on promoting circular economy initiatives.
Organised by the chamber’s Centre for Responsible Business, Sustainability Week 2024 will explore how advanced technologies can contribute to sustainability goals across various sectors. AI’s role in shaping practical sustainability solutions will be showcased, demonstrating its potential to enhance private sector contributions to sustainable development.
Maha Al Gargawi, Vice President of Business Advocacy at Dubai Chambers, emphasized the chamber’s commitment to supporting private sector involvement in sustainability. “This year’s event will examine emerging trends, best practices, and the innovative use of AI and other technologies to create impactful sustainability solutions,” Al Gargawi said.
The opening day will feature a keynote address from His Excellency Ahmad Bin Byat, Vice Chairman of Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, alongside a panel discussion focused on the role of digital solutions in achieving sustainable development goals. Key topics will include the impact of AI on sustainability, improving supply chain efficiency, and leveraging technology to enhance recycling efforts.
A key highlight of the week is a forum on digital strategies for the circular economy, featuring an interactive simulation. The forum will explore how AI, the Internet of Things (IoT), and big data analytics can boost resource efficiency, reduce waste, and promote long-term sustainability.
Additionally, the chamber will host the 12th edition of the Arabia CSR and Sustainability Forum, held under the theme “Sustainable Prosperity: Reorienting for a Balanced Future,” organized by the Arabia CSR Network under the patronage of the Ministry of Economy.
