Dubai Chamber of Commerce Successfully Settles 77% of Mediation Cases Within 10 Days in H1 2024
The Dubai Chamber of Commerce, operating under the Dubai Chambers umbrella, announced that it successfully resolved 77% of mediation cases in the first half of 2024, a significant increase from 62% during the same period in 2023. These cases were settled within a maximum of 10 working days, highlighting the efficiency of the Chamber's mediation services.
The Chamber received 79 mediation cases in H1 2024, with a combined value of AED 6.5 million. Of these, cases worth AED 3.5 million were successfully resolved. The disputes originated from various industries, including construction, logistics, shipping and forwarding, foodstuffs, services, and healthcare.
Khalid Al Jarwan, Vice President of Operations and acting Vice President of Digital and Commercial Sectors at Dubai Chambers, stated, "The increasing demand for the Chamber's mediation service reflects the maturity of the business community in Dubai and its awareness of the importance of amicable settlements to commercial disputes to help preserve business relations. We are committed to protecting the interests of the business community, and our mediation service represents another essential tool that enhances the competitiveness of Dubai’s favorable business environment."
Al Jarwan further highlighted the Chamber's digital mediation service, which streamlines the resolution process, supports Dubai’s vision for digital transformation, and serves customers more effectively. The service offers flexibility, speed, efficiency, and confidentiality, allowing parties to save time and money while maintaining control over the process. This initiative is part of the Chamber's broader efforts to support the growth of local companies and promote Dubai as a global business hub, aligning with the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33) to double the size of the emirate’s economy over the next decade.
