Digital Dubai Implements Strategic Vision for AI-Powered Data Center Economy

Digital Dubai, in collaboration with key government and private sector partners, has commenced implementing the Strategic Vision for the Data Center Economy. This initiative aims to position Dubai as a global leader in the digital economy, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and AI-powered data centers. The strategy aligns with Dubai's Economic Agenda D33, which seeks to increase the city's economic productivity by 50% through digital innovation, potentially adding over AED 14.3 billion in value by 2028.

Hamad Al Mansoori, Director General of Digital Dubai, emphasized the city's readiness to become a global hub for data centers, citing its strategic advantages and leadership in digital transformation. "Dubai's digital maturity and leadership in 5G technology make it an attractive destination for digital investments, fostering a vibrant ecosystem for innovation," he said.

Younus Al Nasser, CEO of the Dubai Data and Statistics Establishment, highlighted the transformative potential of the data center economy, noting that Dubai's extensive experience in digital transformation positions it well to capitalize on emerging technologies like AI, smart cities, and the Metaverse.

Hadi Badri, CEO of Dubai Economic Development Corporation, lauded the initiative as a visionary step towards future-proofing Dubai's economy. He noted that the collaborative approach led by Digital Dubai ensures a robust digital infrastructure that supports sustainable growth, attracting businesses, investment, and talent.

The initiative includes developing high-performance computing, expanding renewable energy use, and enhancing government coordination in areas like planning and land use. It also supports strategic initiatives for AI readiness in Dubai, aiming to establish the city as a premier destination for AI-driven data centers.

A recent study by Digital Dubai projects that this strategic vision will create significant economic value and job opportunities in the digital economy sector, particularly in data centers. The initiative is also expected to advance Dubai's capabilities in next-generation technologies, including Web 3.0, the Metaverse, and the Internet of Things.
