Bayanat and Vay Partner to Expand Teledriving Solutions in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific
Bayanat (ADX: BAYANAT), a leader in AI-powered geospatial solutions, has entered into a strategic partnership with Vay, a provider of automotive-grade teledriving (remote driving) technology. The collaboration aims to expand teledriving solutions across the Middle East, Africa, and selected Asia Pacific countries. The companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to combine Bayanat’s advanced mobility solutions with Vay’s cutting-edge teledriving technology.
The partnership includes the establishment of a joint R&D initiative focused on developing next-generation autonomous technology. By leveraging Bayanat’s AI-powered platform, GIQ, which integrates data from space and ground assets, and Vay’s expertise in teledriving, the collaboration seeks to drive the future of autonomous vehicles. Bayanat’s AI insights will enhance the remote driving experience for Vay’s professionally trained teledrivers, aiming to improve safety, operational efficiency, and situational awareness.
Vay’s teledriving technology allows remote drivers to operate vehicles, delivering them to the customer’s pick-up location. Once the vehicle arrives, the customer takes control for the journey and, after finishing, leaves the car for a remote driver to handle parking or move it to the next user. This sustainable mobility solution is more cost-effective than traditional ride-hailing services and reduces the need for parking space.
Hasan Al Hosani, Managing Director of Bayanat, said, “Our collaboration with Vay will allow us to tackle teledriving challenges and set the pace of innovation in the industry. By combining our AI-powered smart mobility solutions with Vay’s teledriving technology, we aim to deliver scalable mobility solutions that enhance transportation efficiency and foster safer, more sustainable urban mobility experiences.”
Thomas von der Ohe, CEO and Co-Founder of Vay, highlighted the potential of teledriving technology to increase cost-effectiveness for fleet operations and improve user experiences. Vay is a pioneer in Europe, operating teledriving services on public roads without a safety driver and launched its first commercial service in Las Vegas earlier in 2024.
This partnership marks a continued effort by Bayanat to advance smart mobility. In 2024, Bayanat was an Anchor Partner at DRIFTx, a global platform promoting smart, autonomous, and sustainable mobility. The company also announced a partnership with South Korea’s Autonomous a2z to further its work in autonomous fleet operations.
