Chery International has brought together its Middle East distributor network for its inaugural regional partner summit, setting a strategic target of 500,000 units as the Chinese automotive group expands its new-energy vehicle portfolio, intelligent-driving technologies and aftersales infrastructure across the region.
Held in September 2026, the Chery International Middle East Partner Summit brought together distributor partners to review the group's latest vehicles and technologies and align on its next phase of regional growth. The company did not specify a deadline for achieving the 500,000-unit target.
Chery plans 46 new-energy vehicle models
A major focus of the summit was Chery Group's strategy to accelerate the rollout of new-energy vehicles across Middle Eastern markets.
The group plans to introduce 46 NEV models in the region over the coming years, covering different brands, customer segments and use cases.
Chery International, the group's international business platform, oversees overseas development for brands including Chery, OMODA & JAECOO, EXEED, iCAUR and LUXEED.
The expanded portfolio is intended to support growing demand for electrified and technology-led mobility in Middle Eastern markets.
UAE selected for SIVP regional debut
Chery also outlined plans to introduce its Smart Intelligent Valet Parking (SIVP) technology to the Middle East, with the UAE selected as the anchor market for its regional debut.
The first commercial launch is scheduled for the first quarter of 2027. SIVP is designed to allow vehicles to navigate parking facilities and complete parking manoeuvres autonomously without a driver inside the vehicle.
The technology is expected to be introduced across a broad range of Chery Group models and will form part of the company's wider intelligent-driving roadmap for the region.
Chery plans to progressively expand its capabilities from automated parking to highway Navigation on Autopilot (NOA), urban NOA and, in the longer term, Level 4 autonomous robotaxi services.
The company said its broader ambition is to establish a comprehensive portfolio of autonomous-driving technologies in the Middle East.
AiMOGA robots attract regional executive interest
Artificial intelligence and robotics also featured prominently at the summit, with Chery's AiMOGA robotics showcase attracting interest from executives at major Middle Eastern companies.
One of the showcased technologies was the AiMOGA Intelligent Police Robot, which has been deployed in several Chinese cities for applications including school-zone safety, traffic management and security at major sporting events.
The robot uses multi-sensor navigation and a specialised traffic-management large language model to conduct patrols, identify traffic violations and coordinate with traffic signals. Chery said cooperation opportunities are currently being discussed with more than 50 cities in China.
Delegates also viewed Argos, AiMOGA's commercially developed quadruped robot. More than 1,000 units were delivered last year, with applications including home companionship, showroom performances and community security.
Regional distributors play key role in growth strategy
The summit also gave Chery's regional distribution partners an opportunity to share their experiences of developing local operations.
Representatives from the UAE's Omeir Bin Youssef & Sons and Kuwait's Alghanim Industries discussed their partnerships with Chery International and the importance of long-term cooperation in building sustainable operations.
“At a time when the Middle East automotive market is changing rapidly, the strength of our cooperation with regional distributors gives us confidence in the continued growth of our business,” said Zhang Xiaolong, General Manager of Chery International Middle East.
“Through this summit, we are aligning our vision and actions with our distributor partners as we work together towards our strategic target of 500,000 units.”
Chery to upgrade showrooms and aftersales support
Alongside new vehicles and intelligent-driving technologies, Chery plans to work with regional distributors to upgrade its showroom network and create a more consistent customer experience.
The company will also strengthen the role of its dedicated Middle East spare-parts warehouse to improve parts availability, shorten service response times and support aftersales operations.
The move comes as Chery expands its Middle East presence and adds more electrified and technology-focused models to its regional lineup.
Middle East becomes key market for Chery's next phase
The summit highlights Chery's strategy of combining vehicle expansion with intelligent mobility, robotics, retail upgrades and stronger aftersales infrastructure.
With 46 NEV models planned for the Middle East, the UAE positioned as the first regional market for SIVP in Q1 2027, and a strategic ambition of 500,000 units, Chery is seeking to deepen its presence in the region through both product expansion and closer cooperation with local distributors.
