Wanna Read? Initiative Returns to Healthpoint Encouraging Healing Through Reading
Healthpoint, along with hospitals across the UAE established enjoyable reading edges as part of the Wanna Read? effort, encouraging children to read more to recover faster during their hospitals sees in hospitals throughout the UAE.
Healthpoint, the multi-speciality hospitals in Abu Dhabi and part of Mubadala's Medical care Network added to its existing Wanna Read? areas with a third corner in its new pediatric wing, making it the 16th reading edge in the UAE. The health center was the first to adapt the "Wan na Check out?" version for outpatient clinics in support of this campaign.
The programme was established by Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan. It offers children with accessibility to a selection of books throughout their check out to medical facilities and clinics. The innovative reading campaign supplies an enjoyable and academic atmosphere to promote the power of healing through reading, and helps children broaden their literary and creative perspectives throughout their recovery process.
"Reading is the gateway to creative and innovative reasoning, and has a favorable impact on one's total health and wellbeing. Our children are our future, that makes their growth - physically, psychologically and mentally, our leading concern. Wanna Read? was produced to influence kids to use their time throughout exams and health center gos to successfully, and to stimulate their minds and assist in their recovery", said Sheikha Shamma.
Health benefits of reading have long been recognized, the most typical which is the ability to boost the mind, minimize tension, increase memory and rise joy. This has been recognized by leading medical facilities and Activity Care, an innovative UAE company that create programs that supply training in very early childhood advancement, volunteer empowerment, management, soft abilities and English communication.
"Children are quick learners and embrace positive adjustment. We're honoured to support an initiative that encourages reading, and imparts favorable practices in children while also spreading out joy amongst those that see our medical facilities for therapy and care," said Dr. Mai Ahmed Sultan Al Jaber, Acting Medical Director at Healthpoint.
Ranking high on the government's schedule, reading and creative thinking have been supported by the UAE through a variety of initiatives, consisting of the Arab Reading Challenge - the largest ever Arab literacy effort introduced by UAE Vice President and Prime Minister of and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who declared 2016 as The Year of Reading to encourage a surge in literacy degrees.
Wanna Read? was established in 2013, and is a charitable organization that concentrates on three main objectives - promoting literacy among young individuals, urging adult engagement and motivating better community service. It creates pleasant, promoting and inviting locations full of colours and publications for children, to encourage recovery via reading. Healthpoint has supported the Wanna Read? initiative since 2016.
