VAT Refund Service Launched By The Dubai Mall In Partnership With Planet

Adding to the comfort of tourists, The Dubai Mall in partnership with global payments service provider Planet, has launched pre-validation VAT refund pilot service called City Validation in the UAE.

The first mall in the UAE to launch such a new innovative service, visitors to The Dubai Mall can now gain from a effortless choice to claim their VAT refunds effortlessly, as they enjoy last-minute shopping at the mall.

Seven self-service kiosks have been deployed throughout The Dubai Mall for shoppers to claim their shopping refund before exiting the UAE. Tourists want to simply present a valid boarding pass, their original passport or GCC national ID which was used for tax-free shopping, the original receipts and tax-free tags issued by the merchant (which ought to be validated within 90 days from the date of tag issuance). Instructions on the kiosk will guide vacationers to complete the validation method enabling them to claim a VAT refund which can be processed on a Credit/Debit card, WeChat or Cash.

Commencing the service at the worlds most-visited retail and entertainment destination, this VAT refund service adds to The Dubai Malls developing portfolio of premium client services providing a stress-free exit to International shoppers from UAE. The VAT refund service is available every day during mall operational hours.
