Swiss International Scientific School Dubai Hosts Animal Welfare Exhibition to Inspire Future Leaders

Swiss International Scientific School Dubai (SISD), a member of the Nord Anglia Education family, celebrated World Animal Day with an impactful exhibition led by the school’s Primary Animal Welfare Ambassadors and Secondary School Council Leaders. The event, held on 4th October, aimed to promote pet adoption, raise awareness of global animal welfare, and emphasize the importance of local biodiversity conservation. It also reinforced SISD’s core values of compassion, global citizenship, and environmental stewardship.

Gullrukh Rafiq, Assistant Head of Primary at SISD, highlighted the school’s commitment: “Swiss International Scientific School Dubai is dedicated to nurturing students academically and fostering empathy and social responsibility. This event reflects our commitment to inspiring young leaders and reinforcing students’ roles as global citizens.”

Promoting Compassion and Responsibility

A key attraction was the pet adoption booth, organized in collaboration with local animal shelters K9 Friends Dubai and Al Mayya K9 Fujairah. Students learned about the significance of pet adoption and ethical pet ownership. The exhibition also featured student-led research projects on endangered species, native UAE wildlife, and responsible animal care, raising awareness of critical animal welfare issues. Partnerships with Emirates Nature and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) allowed students to advocate for wildlife conservation and symbolically adopt endangered animals, encouraging attendees to take meaningful action for environmental preservation.

The school’s community engagement extended to a pet food donation drive for local animal shelters, demonstrating collective compassion and a commitment to improving the lives of animals in need.

Empowering Student Leaders

The event was organized and managed by SISD’s Secondary School Council Leaders and Primary Animal Welfare Ambassadors, showcasing their dedication to responsibility, global citizenship, and environmental stewardship. As part of Nord Anglia Education’s mission, this initiative aligns with the broader goal of nurturing empathetic, globally aware students who can contribute to a more compassionate and sustainable future.

Through events like this, SISD continues to empower its students to take an active role in shaping a better world for all living beings.
