Talabat, the regions leading food delivery platform, has declared that it will give up delivery and service fees based on a customers proximity to a restaurant, region wide. The action comes with Talabats wish to support its restaurant partners & consumers to navigate the uncertainty given by COVID-19.

Using Talabats in-app location-based technology, customers will be able to choose free delivery from a horde of various restaurants and cuisines at close quarters.

Tomaso Rodriguez, Talabat CEO, mentions that while safety is Talabats top priority, assisting our restaurant partners to leverage our technology is exactly next in line.

The protection of our customers, restaurant partners, riders and our employees is clearly our top preference. Others are secondary. We already started taking precautionary measures within our delivery ecosystem in January to make sure safety comes first.

At the mean time, making sure business continuity for our restaurant partners business is essential. By leveraging our technology, we are motivating our customers to order from nearby restaurant partners who may be seeing dine-in rates dropping due to uncertainty around COVID-19, he stated.

As part of an international delivery network, Talabat has been monitoring COVID-19 since January, stated Rodriguez.
