Saur Saudi Arabia, part of global water solutions company Saur, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Saudi engineering and construction company Nesma & Partners to jointly pursue a strategic recycled water infrastructure opportunity in Riyadh.
The agreement was formalised during the French-Saudi Investment Roundtable Meeting in Paris, held in the presence of Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and French President Emmanuel Macron. The MoU builds on the strategic partnership established between Saur and Nesma & Partners in September 2025.
Under the agreement, the two companies will work together to pursue a recycled water infrastructure opportunity and support the next phase of the tender process. The initiative is aligned with Saudi Arabia's broader sustainability and water-security objectives under Vision 2030.
The partnership also establishes a wider framework for potential cooperation beyond the current opportunity. Areas of collaboration could include municipal and industrial infrastructure, engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), operations and maintenance (O&M), water reuse, digital water solutions and industrial water applications.
Focus on Saudi Arabia's Water Security
The agreement comes as Saudi Arabia continues to invest in strengthening the resilience, efficiency and sustainability of its water resources. Water security, wastewater management, water reuse and resource optimisation have become increasingly important as the Kingdom develops infrastructure to support long-term economic and population growth.
Through the partnership, Saur will contribute its international expertise in water and wastewater management, while Nesma & Partners will provide local market knowledge, execution capabilities and experience in delivering complex infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia.
The companies aim to develop solutions that combine international technical expertise with local requirements and support the Kingdom's long-term infrastructure priorities.
Saur and Nesma & Partners Expand Strategic Partnership
Patrick Blethon, Executive Chairman of Saur Group, said the MoU represents a further step in the relationship between the two companies and reflects their shared ambition to contribute to major infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia.
He highlighted the combination of Nesma & Partners' local capabilities and Saur's international water expertise as an opportunity to support the development of resilient and sustainable infrastructure aligned with Saudi Vision 2030.
Samer Abdul Samad, President and CEO of Nesma & Partners, said the agreement marks an important development in the companies' relationship and supports the company's continued efforts to expand its contribution to Saudi Arabia's water infrastructure sector.
He added that the partnership could provide opportunities to develop projects contributing to the Kingdom's long-term development objectives.
French-Saudi Economic Ties
The signing of the MoU during the French-Saudi Investment Roundtable Meeting also highlights the strengthening of economic and investment ties between France and Saudi Arabia.
