Rain Possible in Some Areas as Temperatures Reach 49°C

Parts of the UAE could see rainfall on Friday, August 7, as weather conditions continue to be influenced by an extension of a surface low-pressure system from the east, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

The NCM forecast calls for fair to partly cloudy skies across the country, with a chance of rain in some eastern and southern areas. Convective cloud formations are expected to develop during the afternoon, potentially bringing rainfall to affected locations.

Weather conditions are also being influenced by an extension of a weak upper-air low-pressure system.

Winds are expected to be light to moderate and southeasterly to northeasterly, becoming fresh at times and potentially causing blowing dust. Wind speeds are forecast to range between 10 and 25 km/h, with gusts reaching up to 40 km/h.

The sea is expected to remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.

Temperatures will remain high across the country, with maximum temperatures expected to reach 49°C in internal areas. Minimum temperatures could fall to around 26°C in some areas.

In the major cities, Dubai is expected to reach a high of 45°C, while Abu Dhabi could see temperatures of up to 46°C. Sharjah is forecast to record a maximum of 43°C.

Overnight temperatures are expected to fall to around 34°C in Dubai, 32°C in Abu Dhabi and 32°C in Sharjah.

Residents in areas affected by rain and stronger winds are advised to remain alert to changing weather conditions, particularly where blowing dust or reduced visibility occurs.
