OGold Doubles User Base to 2 Million in Six Months as Digital Gold and Silver Demand Grows
OGold, a UAE-based Shariah-compliant gold and silver-backed super app, has surpassed two million users after doubling its customer base in six months, marking a milestone in its expansion across the digital precious metals market.
The platform aims to make gold and silver ownership more accessible by allowing customers to buy, sell, save and redeem physically backed precious metals through a single digital application. Users can start investing from AED 1 and access the platform's services around the clock.
OGold Offers Additional Earnings on Eligible Gold and Silver Holdings
Beyond potential returns linked to movements in precious metals prices, OGold allows customers to earn additional gold and silver on eligible holdings, with annual earnings of up to 5% on both metals.
For example, 100 grams of eligible gold could generate up to five additional grams over a year, based on the platform's stated earning rate.
The offering is designed to combine digital access to precious metals with options for customers seeking to accumulate and hold gold and silver.
Physically Backed Precious Metals and Redemption Options
OGold says its customers' gold and silver holdings are physically backed and stored in insured vaults. Users can redeem their holdings as physical bars and coins from recognised brands, including SAM Precious Metals, Emirates Gold and PAMP.
Redemption is available through delivery or in-person collection, giving customers flexibility in accessing their precious metals.
The platform also highlights company-level and individual-level insurance coverage, alongside its Shariah-compliant framework, as part of its approach to security and transparency.
Further expanding its financial services, OGold offers a Platinum Mastercard in physical and virtual formats. The card allows customers to access the value of their holdings, connecting precious metals ownership with everyday digital payments.
OGold Expands Through Strategic Partnerships
Commenting on the two-million-user milestone, Bandar Alothman, Founder of OGold, said the company's objective has been to make gold and silver accessible to a wider audience and integrate precious metals into everyday financial life.
He said: “Reaching two million users is a strong validation of that vision and the trust our customers place in us. As we grow, we remain committed to redefining how people own, grow and access their gold and silver through innovation, transparency and accessibility.”
OGold's expansion is also supported by partnerships with Botim, Valura.ai, Mawarid Finance, Mastercard, NymCard and MoneyHash, among others. These collaborations are intended to strengthen the platform's capabilities and its position within the UAE's digital financial ecosystem.
Following the latest growth milestone, the company plans to continue developing its precious metals offerings, strengthening customer trust and expanding access to digital gold and silver ownership.
