Ministry of Environment and Water to participate in 10th International Plants Expo Middle East

The Ministry of Environment and Water has announced its participation at the 10th International Plants Expo Middle East (IPM Dubai 2015) which will be held from October 5 to 7, 2015 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The regions only dedicated horticulture trade show is being organized under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Dubai Airports.

Eng. Fatima Al Kalbani, the Acting Director of the Plant Health and Development Department- Ministry of Environment and Water highlighted that the ministry participation comes based on the ministry's keenness to promote the facilitation and entrepreneurship agribusiness through educating the participating companies and customers at the IPM Expo about procedures and requirements for import and export of plants and plant products, in addition, to inform them inform about the ministry electronic services which are designed to facilitate the customers businesses. Al Kalbani added: Our participation also is to learn from the experiences of other countries in the field of agriculture aiming to achieve sustainable development and to improve our: procedures, actions and services to protect our plant wealth and to prevent the entry of agricultural pests, and to facilitate procedures for import/export.

Eng. Al Kalbani stressed that to facilitate the customers businesses (import/export): the ministry has converted all services related to the import and export of plants, plant products, fertlisers, pesticides, and honey bees into smart electronic services and applications, where the customers can easily and conveniently apply for the related export/import services and get what they require.

Finally, Eng. Al Kalbani indicated that the exhibition covers all aspects of the horticulture sector: greenhouses, plant nurseries, gardening centers, suppliers of plants and flowers, landscape, and architects and contractors. Moreover, the exhibition will discuss opportunities and potential for the development of plants industry in the region. The IPM Dubai 2015s will present different plants and flowers, technology, protection techniques for plants, floristry, logistics for plants, promotions, services, and designs for plant show rooms/stores. In addition, participants and visitors will have the opportunity to learn about different plants, latest designs, landscapes and latest technology of gardening, as well as irrigation systems, garden decorations
