Ministry of Education and Emirates Scientists Council Launch Scientist in Residence Initiative
The Emirates Scientists Council (ESC) has released the Scientist in Residence effort in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, at Nad Al Hamar school in Dubai.
The effort looks for to transform the means trainees research STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths), by having Emirati scientists and researchers visit local schools to motivate pupils to create their rate of interests throughout a range of scientific disciplines.
Existing at the launch occasion were H.E. Sarah Al Amiri, Minister of State for Advanced Sciences and ESC Chairwoman; and Dr Amna Al Dahhak Al Shamsi, the Ministry of Education's Assistant Undersecretary for the Welfare and Activities Sector.
" Scientist in Residence presents trainees to the nature of job performed by individuals utilized in different scientific research areas. The joint initiative sets up a full day's activity where invited visitors inform students regarding their jobs, academic education and experience, with interactive conferences answering trainees' inquiries and giving them with a forum where they can expand their knowledge and understanding of professions in science. The project intends to help trainees in associating the knowledge they acquire in their curriculum with real-life opportunities.
H.E. Jameela Al Muhairi said: The Scientist in Residence campaign advertises a new incorporated technique in the direction of education. It seeks to expand students' abilities by bringing them along with one of the most famous Emirati scientists and thinkers; this motivates trainees to relocate beyond the traditional framework of learning and knowledge. Meanwhile, H.E. Sarah Al Amiri noted: "The launch of the Scientist in Residence effort personifies the directives of the UAE's smart management, putting researchers, academics and researchers touching students to encourage their passion in various clinical self-controls. Dr Saeed Al-Khazraji, Partner Professor of Chemical Engineering and Director of the Petroleum Institute study centre at Khalifa University, and champion of the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Award for Scientific Excellence (2017 ), existed at the campaign's very first leg, where he spent a full day with students to answer their concerns, shared valuable information regarding his clinical and academic profession, and provided an overview of his contribution to the UAE's sustainable development.
