MBRSG to Host First Global Conference on Economic Diversification

The Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government (MBRSG) is set to launch the inaugural Global Conference on Economic Diversification on October 31 and November 1, 2024. This new annual event aims to foster thought leadership, policy innovation, and academic discourse on economic diversification—a priority for the UAE's long-term economic strategy.

The conference will feature Her Excellency Alia Al Mazrouei, UAE Minister of State for Entrepreneurship, alongside experts from global institutions such as the UN, World Bank, IMF, and OECD. The event will take place at the MBRSG headquarters within the Dubai World Trade Centre and will be grounded in MBRSG’s Economic Diversification Index (EDI), a leading publication presented annually at the World Government Summit.

H.E. Dr. Ali bin Sebaa Al Marri, Executive President of MBRSG, highlighted the conference's role, stating, "Economic diversification has long been at the heart of the UAE’s strategic vision, and the Emirates continues to be a trailblazer in that regard. This forum will bring together global thought leaders to share insights and map out the future of economic diversification."

The conference program will feature panel discussions, roundtables, and workshops exploring diverse facets of economic diversification. Topics on the agenda include the relationship between economic diversification and complexity, overcoming diversification challenges in the Gulf region, financing green pathways, and advancing global measures of economic diversification.
