MBRF to Announce 8th Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Award Winners at 2024 Knowledge Summit
The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF) is set to announce the winners of the 8th Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Award (MBRKA) during the upcoming Knowledge Summit 2024. Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, this year’s summit will take place at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) on November 18-19, under the theme "Future Skills and AI Economy." Co-hosted by MBRF and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the summit highlights Dubai's commitment to nurturing global knowledge exchange.
The MBRKA recognizes individuals and institutions whose work in knowledge dissemination, research, and innovation has significantly contributed to societal advancement. The 2024 award winners will be announced alongside various summit activities, including workshops and sessions dedicated to enhancing understanding of future skills and the AI-driven economy.
Throughout its history, MBRKA has celebrated a distinguished array of leaders in knowledge and innovation, from governmental entities to international organizations. Past recipients include the Emirates Mars Mission’s "Hope Probe," recognized for reaching Mars’ orbit, and the "Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting" for fostering intergenerational knowledge exchange. In 2022, Dr. Katalin Karikó and Dr. Drew Weismann, recognized for their pioneering COVID-19 vaccine research, were honored just months before receiving the Nobel Prize in Medicine. The Foundation also awarded Dr. Chang Yongsheng for his groundbreaking work in rabies control, SARS-CoV-2 genetic study, and disease prevention.
This year’s summit and award underscore MBRF’s dedication to promoting knowledge and innovation as fundamental pillars of global sustainable development.
