MBRF Launches ‘Knowledge Lounge’ in Australia to Strengthen Intellectual Dialogue Among Emirati and Arab Youth

Initiative Expands Knowledge Sharing as Part of National Reading Month 2025

The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF) has launched the ‘Knowledge Lounge’ in Sydney and Melbourne, Australia, as part of its National Reading Month 2025 activities under the theme ‘The UAE Reads’. This initiative, in collaboration with the Federal Youth Authority of the UAE, represented by the Emirates Global Youth Council in Australia, aims to foster knowledge exchange among Emirati and Arab youth abroad, particularly international students, strengthening their connection with the UAE’s intellectual and cultural heritage.

Promoting Knowledge and Intellectual Engagement

The launch of the ‘Knowledge Lounge’ in Australia aligns with MBRF’s commitment to expanding its global presence through innovative programs that enhance intellectual dialogue and learning. By creating a platform for knowledge exchange, MBRF seeks to empower young Emiratis and Arabs while strengthening their ties with the wider Arab knowledge community.

His Excellency Jamal bin Huwaireb, CEO of MBRF, highlighted the significance of the initiative in cultivating a global knowledge-driven society. He stated:

“The ‘Knowledge Lounge’ in Sydney and Melbourne is a crucial step in MBRF’s mission to advance intellectual engagement among youth worldwide. Through this initiative, we are providing a dynamic space that unites Emirati and Arab students, encourages intellectual discussions, and enhances their knowledge. Our goal is to empower the next generation by fostering a culture where knowledge is a key driver of progress and innovation.”

He further emphasized MBRF’s active role in National Reading Month, reinforcing the UAE’s vision of establishing itself as a global hub for knowledge and learning.

A National Commitment to Knowledge and Development

His Excellency Khalid Al Nuaimi, Director of the Federal Youth Authority, underscored the UAE leadership’s dedication to knowledge as a cornerstone of national progress. He stated:

“The UAE has developed a comprehensive strategy to integrate reading and knowledge-sharing into everyday life. Our leadership recognizes that investing in youth and providing them with opportunities for intellectual growth is essential for sustainable development. Initiatives like the ‘Knowledge Lounge’ drive progress by cultivating a highly skilled and creative society that can adapt to an evolving global landscape.”

He further noted that Emirati youth play a vital role in supporting national goals by engaging in meaningful intellectual and cultural exchanges. The ‘Knowledge Lounge’ initiative strengthens these efforts by encouraging youth to collaborate with the Arab knowledge community on a global scale.

Encouraging Cross-Cultural Knowledge Exchange

Noor Al Ali, President of the Emirates Global Youth Council in Australia, highlighted the initiative’s role in facilitating knowledge-sharing between Emirati students and their international peers. She stated:

“Knowledge is a fundamental pillar in shaping the aspirations of youth, particularly those pursuing education abroad. The ‘Knowledge Lounge’ fosters a culture of learning by encouraging dynamic exchanges between Emirati, Arab, and international students. This initiative broadens perspectives, nurtures creativity, and enhances academic and professional development.”

A Hub for Intellectual Growth and Innovation

The ‘Knowledge Lounge’ is a key initiative of MBRF, offering a platform for expert-led discussions across various disciplines. Through interactive sessions, the initiative connects participants with authors, industry experts, and personal development coaches, enabling in-depth intellectual exchanges.

Beyond promoting a reading culture, the initiative serves as a hub for creative thinking and talent development. It brings together young minds, fostering innovative ideas and knowledge-driven communities. Last year, MBRF hosted over 40 knowledge sessions as part of the ‘Knowledge Lounge’ initiative, featuring prominent figures from the literary and publishing sectors.

By expanding its knowledge-sharing efforts globally, MBRF continues to play a pivotal role in inspiring youth to embrace reading, critical thinking, and intellectual dialogue—essential elements for a progressive and knowledge-driven future.
