The International Day of Yoga on June 21st to be celebrated by The Flag Island
The Flag Island, operated under Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) will organize a special yoga event on 21 June 2021 after the successful edition of the event in 2019. It will be in conjunction with the International Day of Yoga. The event will be organised from 06:00 p.m. to 07:30 p.m., in collaboration with Fitness First, Sharjah. The activity is focuses at spreading awareness about yoga and its benefits for physical, mental and psychological health.
The event will feature a range of free-of-charge activities including yoga and meditation sessions under the supervision of a group of trained Yoga instructors and will organize an awareness session explaining how yoga can increase wellness in one's life.
The well-designed fitness program will be one of a kind opportunity for parents to spend quality time with their children as they can work out together and learn more about yoga, which is generally considered a holistic approach to achieving a healthier mind and body. The session will also spread awareness about the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle.

The event will be organized by following the COVID-19 guidelines and the visitors should make sure to maintain safe physical distancing and adhere to the safety measures.
The Flag Island, situated near the Government Departments Buildings in Al Layyah next to Al Jubail Market, is a popular national monument in Sharjah. The island was inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, in 2012. The destination offers an array of sports and social attractions for the emirates residents and visitors. It serves as a venue for national occasions and celebrations throughout the year.
