HONOR Partners with OWN eSIM to Expand Seamless Digital Connectivity Across GCC

HONOR has announced a strategic partnership with OWN eSIM to deliver integrated digital connectivity solutions for smartphone users across the GCC, enabling instant access to global mobile data services without the need for physical SIM cards.

Under the collaboration, the OWN eSIM application will be preinstalled on selected HONOR smartphone models through Google PAI integration, allowing users to activate international data connectivity directly from their devices with greater convenience and flexibility.

The partnership is designed to simplify connectivity for users who travel frequently or rely on multiple mobile networks across different countries.

Seamless Connectivity Without Physical SIM Cards

By integrating OWN eSIM’s digital platform directly into HONOR devices, customers will be able to activate global data services instantly, removing the need to purchase or swap traditional SIM cards while travelling.

The initiative reflects the growing shift toward digital-first connectivity solutions and embedded mobile services within smartphone ecosystems.

According to Debo Zhang, the collaboration supports HONOR’s broader strategy of delivering smarter and more integrated user experiences beyond hardware innovation.

“Connectivity today must be as dynamic as the lives we lead. Our collaboration with OWN eSIM reflects HONOR’s commitment to delivering smarter, more integrated digital experiences for our users,” Zhang said.

He added that smartphones now play a central role in how people work, create content, and remain entertained, making seamless connectivity increasingly important for consumers across the region.

Expanding eSIM Adoption Across the GCC

The partnership also marks a major step for OWN eSIM as the company expands its presence across GCC markets and strengthens its position within the growing global eSIM sector.

Martijn Van Der Ven said the integration aims to remove friction from cross-border connectivity experiences.

“We are pleased to partner with HONOR to bring our connectivity platform closer to users across the GCC. By embedding OWN eSIM directly into HONOR smartphones, we are delivering a seamless, future-ready connectivity experience designed for today’s digital-first consumers,” he stated.

The companies confirmed that the partnership will also include coordinated regional marketing and awareness campaigns highlighting the benefits of embedded eSIM technology and digital connectivity solutions.

Supporting the Future of Embedded Connectivity

The collaboration reflects wider industry trends as smartphone manufacturers and connectivity providers increasingly move toward integrated and software-driven mobile services.

By combining HONOR’s device ecosystem with OWN eSIM’s connectivity platform, the partnership aims to provide users with:

  1. Instant global mobile data activation
  2. Simplified travel connectivity
  3. Flexible network management
  4. Reduced reliance on physical SIM cards
  5. More seamless digital experiences across borders

Industry analysts continue to view eSIM technology as a major driver of future mobile connectivity, particularly as international travel and cross-border digital services continue to expand.
