Hiring and Training Local Talent is the Key to Raising Standards within the Local Hospitality Sector
The luxury hospitality industry in Bahrain is set to experience an unprecedented period of development, says Greg Pirkle, General Manager of the 68-storey property due to open its doors in the countrys capital Manama.
Bahrain is poised to see its luxury hotel room capacity increase significantly with several high profile projects in development, out of which Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay is amongst the most anticipated. Pirkle says the boosted luxury offerings and added competition will greatly benefit the industry and drive up the standards of service and quality within the Bahraini hospitality landscape as a whole.
The Hotel, which is gearing up for its largest Bahrain-based recruitment drive on 26th, 27th and 28th October, says it is keen to support the Labour Ministrys Bahrainization program and the efforts of the Specific Council for Training by investing in the hiring and training of local talent wherever possible.
According to a report released in a leading Bahrain daily in August 2014, the number of Bahrainis working in the hospitality industry has increased approximately by four per cent in the preceding eight months.
The Hotel will be looking to support this trend through a mass recruitment drive exclusively for Bahraini and GCC nationals held on the 26th and 27th October at the Sheraton Hotel. A separate recruitment day will be held on October 28th for international candidates.
In every country we enter, the emphasis is on creating a sense of place and no one can create a better culture than the local people, says Pirkle. We hire for attitude and train for skill. As with all other new properties we are looking to hire the best candidates in the market that match our core values and turn them into a world-class workforce capable of delivering the highest standards of service and quality.
Four Seasons has been named by its employees to FORTUNE magazines list of the 100 Best Companies to Work For for 17 years in a row one of just 13 organizations to have the distinction of being recognized every year since the lists inception in 1998.
We believe our greatest asset and the key to our success is our people. Our formula to achieve undisputed leadership focuses on being #1 with our employees throughout Four Seasons and being the best employer for a high performing and diverse workforce, added Pirkle.
The new Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay will feature 273 exceptionally spacious guest rooms, six options for indoor-outdoor dining and drinks including three outlets by celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck, five swimming experiences with six super-cabanas, expansive spa with 17 treatment rooms, two magnificent ballrooms and a Sky Bridge with meeting rooms on the 50th and 51st floors.
