Higher Committee Supports Development Made Towards The Delivery Of Expo 2020 Ahead Of Key Autumn Events
Her Excellency Reem Al Hashimy, UAE Minister of State and Director General of Bureau Dubai Expo 2020 presented the steps being taken in preparation for the formal registration of the Expo, which will take place at the Bureau International Des Expositions (the world governing body for Expos) in Paris this November.
Her Excellency’s update included a discussion on the latest enhancements to the Expo site masterplan – which sets out how the Expo site in Dubai South will be developed ahead of the opening of the Expo. The masterplan has been designed to facilitate innovation and foster collaboration and partnerships, and form the basis of an enduring legacy that fully reflects the Expo’s theme of 'Connecting Minds, Creating the Future'.
The 20th October this year will mark five years until the Expo will open its gates to the public. During the six months of the Expo, it is expected that the event will host 25 million visits. 70% of visitors to the Expo will be international, making Expo 2020 Dubai the most internationally diverse World Expo in history.
The 20th October milestone will be celebrated by UAE Day at Expo Milano 2015, where the UAE pavilion has proven to be a major attraction for visitors.
