Harrods, London Welcomes First Emirati Childrenswear Brand – Shatha Essa Kids, Supported by Dubai Culture

Harrods, the iconic London department store, has welcomed its first Emirati childrenswear brand, Shatha Essa Kids, to its prestigious lineup. Supported by the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), this marks a significant milestone in boosting the global presence of Emirati talent.

Shatha Essa, the visionary behind the brand, has been awarded a dedicated section in the luxury brands room on the fourth floor of Harrods. The space, designed by Shatha herself, is a whimsical realm inspired by fairytales and dreams, evoking the atmosphere of a delightful birthday party. Children can role-play and dress up dolls in dresses mirroring those available for purchase, fostering an interactive and imaginative shopping experience. An interactive theatre within the space features illustrations of the dresses in various settings, allowing children to immerse themselves in a playful environment.

Khulood Khoory, Director of the Projects & Events Department at Dubai Culture, highlighted the authority’s commitment to nurturing Emirati talent, stating: “Emirati designers have proven their ability to innovate, generate distinctive ideas, and establish successful projects that open vast horizons. This initiative showcases the essence of our Emirati cultural identity and underscores the strength and competitiveness of Dubai’s design sector.”

Shatha Essa, Founder and Creative Director of Shatha Essa Kids, expressed her gratitude for the support from Dubai Culture. “This marks an extraordinary milestone, representing my brand and my inspiration in Harrods, London. The Authority has enhanced my presence as a UAE Fashion Designer. This is a triumph for my childrenswear label and a testament to our nation’s ability to present a positive image of young Emirati talent,” she said. All pieces in the collection are designed and produced in Dubai, highlighting the city’s burgeoning fashion industry.

Inspired by her daughters, Hessa and Hind, the Shatha Essa Kids collection brings joy and elegance to life through voluminous dresses, elegant outerwear, sweet accessories, and exquisite embellishments handcrafted from shimmering sequins and delicate threads.
