Femininity, Grace & Elegance are the hallmarks of Islamic Fashion today
Abbati the most highly anticipated designer showcase for modern Middle Eastern fashion came to a spectacular close Tuesday night (20 January) with high-fashion abaya designers such as Kanzi, DAS Collection, Nabrman and Queen of Spades showing off their stunning creations in a series of invite-only fashion shows.
The finale of Abbati was defined by adventurous styles, including a range of diverse accessories added to the abayas, from patches and pockets to belts, scarves and jewelry. While regal gowns and floral prints inspired by medieval tales hit the catwalk, the highly anticipated seminar by the Islamic Fashion Design Council also stimulated debate on key industry trends set to affect the market for traditional fashion in the region.
Entitled Whats Changed The New Muslim Outlook, the seminar was led by founder of the Islamic Fashion Design Council and acclaimed Arabic fashion expert Alia Khan, and touched on topics as diverse as colour psychology and how fashion affects our moods.
Islamic Fashion has always understood that feminity, grace and elegance are powerful. It is this strength and power that have been ever-present through changing trends, and continue to be the hallmarks of our dress-sense today, commented Alia Khan.
Also taking place on the sidelines of the exclusive fashion shows was the Accessory & Jewellery with Swarovski Crystals workshop led by Crystal House Dubai which focused on the popular trend of embellished abayas.
