F5 (NASDAQ: FFIV), a global leader in securing and delivering apps and APIs, has expanded its strategic partnership with MinIO, a specialist in high-performance, object-native AI storage. The collaboration aims to power advanced AI factories with robust, scalable, and secure data pipelines, addressing the complex demands of modern AI workloads.

The joint solution integrates the F5 Application Delivery and Security Platform (ADSP) with MinIO AIStor Enterprise Edition, creating a hybrid multicloud framework designed for AI/ML data pipelines, data repatriation, replication, and exascale storage. It addresses key enterprise challenges such as high public cloud costs, latency bottlenecks, and the increasing need for secure, scalable data access.

From Edge to AI Factory
The partnership is already in action with a global automotive manufacturer that uses F5 and MinIO technologies to transmit vehicle data from around the world to AI factories for model training and validation. F5 ensures secure, efficient data traffic management from regional points of presence (PoPs) to centralized data lakes, while MinIO provides high-performance AI storage to support model improvement for autonomous systems. Once validated, AI model updates are securely distributed back to the vehicles.

The solution mitigates common AI pipeline issues, including uneven load distribution, unsecured endpoints, and network performance fluctuations. It also differentiates between high-latency WAN traffic and low-latency LAN traffic to optimize operational performance.

Aligned with F5’s AI Reference Architecture, the combined technology supports fine-tuning, training, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) workflows. Key use cases include:
