Ericsson Named Leader in Gartner Magic Quadrant for CSP 5G RAN Infrastructure Solutions 2024

Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) has once again been recognized as a Leader in the 2024 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for CSP 5G RAN Infrastructure Solutions. This marks the fourth consecutive year that Ericsson has earned this prestigious title, and it has been placed highest for "Ability to Execute."

The Gartner report, released in July 2024, provides a comprehensive overview of critical 5G radio access network (RAN) infrastructure capabilities. Gartner experts assessed vendors offering 5G solutions for communications service providers (CSPs) based on their Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute. This year's report focuses solely on 5G RAN, distinguishing it from previous editions that also covered core networks.

Ericsson's prominence in the market is evident, with around half of the world's mobile 5G traffic outside China being carried over Ericsson-powered networks. The company also excels in modernizing legacy 4G sites with 5G technology, achieving ten times greater capacity and over 30 percent energy savings. According to a recent GSA report, there are approximately 300 5G networks in commercial service, with Ericsson supporting 162 live 5G networks across 69 countries.

Fredrik Jejdling, Executive Vice President and Head of Networks at Ericsson, expressed his delight at the recognition: "We are delighted to once again be acknowledged for our ability to execute and deliver in a market that is constantly evolving and presenting new challenges. We’ve worked hard on earning customer trust, with a significant step-up in speed and resilience. Together with our technology leadership, it’s the foundation of how we do business, offering sustainable and innovative solutions to our customers."

Ericsson's industry leadership is further underscored by its ranking as the leader in the Frost Radar™ 5G Network Infrastructure Market 2024 analysis for the fourth year in a row. The latest ABI report on telco vendors' sustainability also places Ericsson in the number one position. Additionally, Ericsson customers have achieved a 72 percent win ratio in public performance benchmarks, based on an analysis of 258 public 2023 benchmark reports for both 4G and 5G.

Ericsson continuously evolves its 5G RAN, Cloud RAN, and Transport portfolios. Its hardware portfolio features energy-efficient, small, and lightweight Massive MIMO and multiband radios, powered by Ericsson’s latest generation custom silicon and prepared for Open RAN. The company’s innovative software solutions include Automated Energy Saver and differentiated 5G connectivity kits.

Recently, Ericsson launched extensive enhancements to its radio, transport, and antenna portfolios with 12 new hardware and software solutions for CSPs. These new radios, presented at the pre-MWC event in London, enhance Ericsson’s comprehensive and sustainable Open RAN-prepared radio portfolio.
