Epson Unveils Middle East Innovation Centre at Dubai Production City, Strengthening Commitment to Sustainable Growth
Epson, a global technology leader, has officially inaugurated its state-of-the-art Innovation Centre at Dubai Production City, part of TECOM Group PJSC. The centre is set to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of regional product development, offering innovative solutions in alignment with sustainability goals.
The opening ceremony was attended by distinguished industry leaders, including Yasunori Ogawa, President and CEO of Seiko Epson Corporation; Neil Colquhoun, President of Epson META-CWA; Abdulla Belhoul, CEO of TECOM Group; and other prominent dignitaries, partners, and customers.
Epson’s new facility is designed to meet the growing demand for regionally tailored technology solutions, particularly from industries undergoing digital transformation. It will serve as a hub for showcasing Epson’s latest products, including projectors, business printers, and EcoTank home and office printers, while also promoting eco-conscious innovations.
In his remarks, Ogawa emphasized Epson's commitment to reducing environmental impact through the development of efficient and compact products. "The opening of the new Epson Innovation Centre underscores our dedication to our customers and partners across the region, enabling us to create regionally relevant products that contribute to a more sustainable future."
Spanning 1,100 square meters, the centre features advanced facilities that will foster collaboration with customers, channel partners, and Epson’s R&D teams in Japan. Local data, customer feedback, and market insights will drive the design of next-generation technologies.
Epson’s investment in the Innovation Centre, valued at over USD 1 million, reflects the company’s dedication to addressing the unique needs of diverse regional markets. Neil Colquhoun added, "This investment reaffirms Epson's vision to support industries across the region by offering solutions that empower customers and tackle key challenges."
The centre also aims to enhance the local creative economy, aligning with Dubai's Economic Agenda ‘D33’ and the National Strategy for the Cultural and Creative Industries. Majed Al Suwaidi, Senior Vice President of TECOM Group, expressed his support, stating, "The launch of Epson’s Innovation Centre will drive the growth of industries, pushing boundaries in engineering and technology."
The Epson Innovation Centre will also host workshops, seminars, and events to support the professional development of Epson’s team and partners. The focus will be on integrating innovative solutions across various industries, including education, healthcare, retail, and entertainment.
Epson's META-CWA operations, which include over 330 employees across the region, will benefit from this new centre, further solidifying Dubai’s role as a global hub for technological innovation.
The Innovation Centre also reflects Epson’s broader global commitment to R&D, following significant investments in the region from 2022 to 2024. Among the latest technology on display are Epson’s Q-series projector solutions, EcoTank printers, WorkForce Enterprise Series business inkjet printers, and the SurePress L-6534VW UV Digital Label Press.
With its advanced design and cutting-edge technologies, Epson’s new Innovation Centre is poised to be a key player in advancing sustainable innovation in the UAE and the wider region.
