ENOC Group continues to drive sustainable development, participates in Earth Hour 2024

" ENOC saved 4.8 MWh of electricity, equivalent to 1,944 kg of CO2 emissions in Earth Hour 2024 " ENOC has achieved a 17% reduction in the Greenhouse Gas emission intensity (from 28.84 kgCO2e/ton to 23.95 kgCO2e/ton) through various energy efficiency optimisation initiatives from 2014 to 2023 " The

In alignment with its global and local sustainable development objectives, the ENOC Group once again demonstrated its dedication to sustainability and energy efficiency by actively supporting "Earth Hour 2024: The Biggest Hour for Earth".

In solidarity with millions worldwide advocating for climate action, ENOC participated by turning off non-essential lighting at its headquarters and operational sites on March 23rd, from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Throughout this hour, all non-essential lighting including service station forecourts, convenience stores, quick oil change, carwash areas, and pylon signs remained unlit.

His Excellency Saif Humaid Al Falasi, Group CEO of ENOC, emphasized the organization's unwavering commitment to fostering sustainable development initiatives aimed at preserving the environment and the planet. He expressed ENOC's dedication to raising awareness about the critical importance of energy optimization and pledged to continue encouraging both staff and the broader community to minimize environmental impact and promote energy conservation.

Underlining ENOC's sustained efforts in environmental stewardship and resource management, the Earth Hour 2024 initiative yielded significant results. ENOC achieved a noteworthy reduction of 408 MWh of electricity consumption during the event, equivalent to mitigating 1,944 kg of CO2 emissions.

Furthermore, ENOC's Environmental and Resource Management (E&RM) initiatives spanning from 2014 to 2023 have yielded tangible results. These include a remarkable 23% decrease in specific energy consumption, from 0.67 GJ/ton to 0.516 GJ/ton, alongside a substantial increase in water recycling from 2% to 24.86%. These achievements are attributed to various impactful projects such as waste heat recovery initiatives in the refinery, propane sphere projects at the MTBE facility, solar PV implementations at service stations and sites, as well as numerous energy and water conservation and optimization endeavors.
