Empower Prepares for High Summer Demand with Enhanced District Cooling Services

Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation PJSC (Empower), the world’s largest district cooling services provider, has confirmed its readiness to meet the high demand for its high-quality district cooling services during the summer season. With temperatures on the rise, Empower has implemented sustainable and responsible methods for both major and routine maintenance to ensure efficient service delivery across residential, commercial, and other buildings.

Empower currently serves over 1,540 buildings in sectors such as residential, commercial, education, health, hospitality, retail, and entertainment. To handle peak summer demand, the company has developed its district cooling infrastructure in Dubai, expanding its pipeline network, establishing Thermal Energy Storage (TES) systems, and deploying semi-permanent plants and heat exchangers.

Ahmad bin Shafar, CEO of Empower, stated, “We trust in our highly professional and experienced teams to meet the challenges of increasing demand, ensuring the uninterrupted delivery of district cooling services to our customers. Our state-of-the-art Command Control Centre (CCC) provides comprehensive smart monitoring of our operations, ensuring accurate temperature measurement, regular maintenance of gauges, and continuous examination of thermal sensors. We have also integrated Parallel Working Environment (PWE) technology with the CCC, which supports remote monitoring of our cooling plants across Dubai.”

Bin Shafar noted that energy consumption during the summer doubles, with air conditioning consuming up to 70% of the total energy used by buildings in the region. Empower's district cooling systems reduce electricity consumption by up to 50% compared to traditional cooling systems. To meet high summer demand, Empower utilizes innovative, globally recognized district cooling systems aligned with Dubai’s vision to promote sustainable development and reduce electricity and water consumption by 30% by 2030.

“Our commitment to providing Dubai's most prestigious projects with reliable district cooling services demands a high level of preparedness. We achieve this by utilizing advanced, environmentally-friendly technologies for efficient cooling production and implementing AI-powered solutions to predict and swiftly address potential network issues,” Bin Shafar concluded.
