Emirates Health Services Launches "Your Heart, Your Life" Campaign to Combat Cardiovascular Diseases

Emirates Health Services (EHS) has launched the “Your Heart, Your Life” campaign, an initiative aimed at raising awareness about cardiovascular diseases, the leading cause of death worldwide. The campaign, inaugurated by H.E. Dr. Yousif Mohamed Al Serkal, Director General of EHS, underscores the importance of early detection and aligns with the National Strategy for Wellbeing 2031.

Dr. Kareema Alraesi, Director of the Primary Healthcare Department at Emirates Health Services, highlighted the campaign’s focus on proactive healthcare. “This initiative addresses significant health challenges in the UAE and globally. By prioritizing early detection and preventive care, we aim to reduce the prevalence of cardiovascular diseases and improve the community’s quality of life,” she said.

Comprehensive Screening and Advanced Technology

The campaign plans to screen 10,000 individuals aged 18 and above over 100 days, from October through the end of the year. Services include vital sign assessments, HbA1c (blood sugar) tests, cholesterol checks, and cardiovascular risk evaluations. The screenings also account for smoking habits and family medical history. An innovative electronic system facilitates patient referrals to specialized care, ensuring seamless coordination between EHS’s primary healthcare centers and hospitals.

Collaborations for a Healthier Community

EHS is partnering with global healthcare leaders Bayer and Merck to implement the campaign across health centers in Dubai and the northern emirates. Participating centers include the Family Health Promotion Center, Wasit Health Center, Alriffa Health Center, and Al Riqa Health Center in Sharjah, as well as Al Muhaisnah Health Center in Dubai, Mushairif Health Center in Ajman, and Ras Al Khaimah Health Center. Other centers involved are Abdullah Bin Ali Al Sharhan Health Center, Murshid Health Center, and Al Madina Health Center in Fujairah. Field campaigns are also being conducted at various government and private organizations to maximize outreach.

Promoting Awareness and Wellbeing

The “Your Heart, Your Life” campaign exemplifies EHS’s commitment to innovative and accessible healthcare. By leveraging strategic partnerships and technology, the initiative not only educates the public about cardiovascular risks but also fosters a culture of preventive care, aligning with national goals to enhance overall wellbeing across the UAE.
